dmg to mana= dmg reduced?

this is a question that is bothering me. if you have a sorc with energy shield it takes a % of the dmg u recieve and takes it away from mana... however, if you have an item that has something like nightsmoke 50% dmg goes to mana, that means 50% of the dmg u take goes to your mana, so if you have energy shield with 50% dmg to mana and 50% dmg recieved goes to mana, isn't that 50% dmg reduced. this is because as soon as ur 50% of dmg is taken away from mana it is added right back on almost instantly

It depends on how much damage you take and how much damage you do. If 50% of the damage you do is put into your mana, then for every one mana you would have to do 2 damage. So if you have 100 mana then you would have to do 100 damage. Energy shield on the other hand goes 1 for 1. Therefore if your enemy does 50 damage then you have to do 100 damage to refill your mana. Simple math.

PI is Dmg to mana and telekinises (synergy) and Energy shield if reached perfect u will be invulnerable until they kill u mana.. then .. ur screwd
