Quite recently, Ive noticed a HECK of a lot of people who claim to be "open minded" Bash people who they, or the person themselves deem to be "Emo"
May i ask why, This is just like the whole hate of the "goths" and the "punks" etc.

My advice to you or anyone else getting butt hurt over what people say about the culture you're into. Pull the stick out of your *** and get a life. Harsh? A bit. Deserved? Probably not. But seriously it's people talking shit over the internet...who the Hell cares? I was dubbed by someone once as the flame king, but seriously all my flames were out of either boredom, fun, or drunken antics (Which is realy a mix of the first two with alcohol thrown in). Just get over it.

As for my opinion on emo and all that? I really think it's a pretty dumb scene, just my opinion of course. A bunch of kids who were perfectly happy before now *****ing and complaining about how their girlfriends/boyfriends ditched them. And of course all these tragic relationships only lasted about two months in the middle of Jr. High. Yes this is making a generalization but hearing emo music really pisses me off because most of the kids making this music have grown up with tons of money and getting everything they ever wanted just by asking daddy. Very few of them have ever worked REAL jobs and very few of them paid for their own equipment. I don't hate people who are into the emo scene but I do hate the scene itself.

I realized how stupid it was recently, and now i'm not judging musical tastes. in latin they say, "digustibus non disputatem" which means, "There's no accounting for taste". whatever you like, i don't care. but I agree with the brilliant spooner when he says that the whiners of high school get w/e they want by asking daddy, and i go to a 20k a year private school(i work every other day to pay it off) and every other kid there is some emo fag whose dad is a high powered lawyer, etc...hate em all...

Emo people are idiots. Plain and simple. They like music in which the singer sounds like he's holding his nose closed when he sings. Seriously, pinch your nose closed and start talking and you're an emo singer. The people on the instruments have no talent at all, they just do shitty little 3 chord progressions, if even that. And then you have how they dress. You have the guys wearing chick pants and studded belts with gay, thick-framed glasses. They hang out in coffee shops. WHO THE HELL DOES THAT? And when they talk, they're like, "My toe hurts... Life sucks..." It's just pure bullshit, you don't hate life, you're posing to fit in.

And afterall if you're too "cool" why even talk about them...
No matter how much and badly you say you hate these emo kids, they are always going to be there. So why bother?

So my conclusion is that... if you don't like a certain group of people, I think you should stay the f*** out of their businesses and do your own damn thing.

Wow a direct attack for stating my opinion? Well hello Mr. Hypocrit folks 'round here call me Spoon. I said if you're getting butt hurt over this then you need to pull the stick out of your *** and it was a comment directed toward ANYONE who is upset over people's opinion on the "emo culture." Though apparantly with this comment you made it clear that you are among that group.

I can't tell you everyone else's reasons for posting how they feel about the subject as I can't speak for anyone but myself. My reason though was because we were asked. A topic was made on the subject, I viewed it, and I responded with my honest opinion. I've seen it happen too many times where somebody jumps into a thread or conversation with their only intention being to state their opinion about how stupid everyone stating their opinions is.

And now I offer a rebuttal. Nobody said we were cooler. Nobody was realy whinning, with one exception. And if our "whinning" upsets you so much perhaps a thread like this is the wrong place to be. And maybe this kind of posting is our "own damn thing."

A caution to forum users...please think before you post. Please read through the topic before you comment. And whatever you do...don't become one of those "I'm above all of you because of my great level of maturity" posters.
