Where do you get precut renders? I have done all my own.
And nice tut, though some parts were a bit confusing.

I am a complete noob at such things. Maybe You should start by telling which programs to use? I mean it's probably Photoshop, right?

Are all the renders at the render world precut? Because If they are, I have a problem.

highlight the bg parts with the magic wand tool hold in shift to select multiple area's and then right click and click on select inverse and then your render will be highlighted then just right click and click on layer via copy and that will give you a layer with your render only

I honestly dont like the tutorial, although I did see you put time into it. But much of it was telling how to use someone elses art as your own, then changing colors around. + the tricks of a basic sig (which millions+ tutorials have been made for that purpose)
in that it is way too decorated, often hard to read or go back to if you are switching between the tutorial and photoshop i would imagine.
Good effort nonetheless!
