What is your opinion on gay people and gay marriage?

Before you could clearly think for yourself, the media and your parents have thrown the message of how a normal person is Christian and how you should doubtlessly follow what the Bible has to tell you. You were told that believing in God is the right thing and that if you stray in the smallest amount, you're doomed to an eternity in hell with maggots eating your intestines and shit like that.

I was NOT greatly influenced by the church when I was small, so I have been able to think clearly. All my close friends that listen to my arguments, now that they are able to learn things for themselves instead of being force-fed information, have begun to doubt their faith as well.

Damn. Speak that truth.

in my opinion, gays are people. just people. and as people, i will judge each one of them when get to i know them personally just like i do with anyone. if they flaunt their sexuality or flirt with me too much after i have expressed disinterest, i will regard them as rude just as if they were a straight person. if they are nice and keep details of their sex life to themselves like everyone else does, then we'll get along quite nicely

gay people are no different from regular people. they don't "deserve" equal rights because it implies that we are the judges of whether or not they receive them. as if it were something that we were handing out. no. they already have those rights. they have had them since the day they became an american and i hope that they will keep those rights.

i think gay marriage is completely acceptable. i honestly dont know why people are making such a big stink about it. what? will gays getting married actually affect you in any significant way? goddamn. get over yourself, people. quit bothering them and let's all just get on with our lives

You obviously are ignorant, As by stating the fact you think homosexual people changed their sexuality.
I didn't suddenly think one day "Hey maybe i should love men"
I Always have been this way.

I was expecting this pathetic line. Seriously, Its not even funny.
And Red, Please point out how it is immoral to be gay.
Your more or less saying because i prefered one gender since my childhood im immoral, Which is a hypocritical statement.

I didn't mean for it to be funny, that was my way to say I don't support gays.

Okay I don't fully understand the argument of " I'm born this way" so you would realy have to eloborate before I can give an accurate answer on that.
#47
he means that he has felt this way towards men his whole life, as far back as he can remember, he has liked other men....i assume
#48
That's what I would have first thought but apparently there's something more to the story.
#49
kind of a stupid question....red, did you at some point in your life decide, 'hey i'm going to be straight, i like girls'? no, and he didnt for guys....
#50
hmmmm...most of ur guys' areguments r based on personal opinions and US's freedom...which is good....but i also want to know wat religion says bout this issue...even tho religion doesnt hold importance to sum ppl...i want to know wat religion says bout gay ppl and gay marriage, bcoz as far as i know, gay ppl have bin around forever...

so wat doesn Islam and Christianity say bout gay ppl??? thats wat i want to know also...
#51

red, how do you not understand being "born that way"?
were you born without a sexual preference then developed it later?
it just means that a gay has a preference for the same sex.

and flea, what do you mean by gay? do you really mean feminine? because homosexuality is not a behavior.

I'm fine with it, at the end of the day, we're all human. People are just afraid of what they don't know about. Take a moment of you're life to talk to a homosexual person if you can. They are no diffrent from straight people (other than loving the same gender). Notice I said homosexual, why does no one make a big deal out of a women marrying another? Everytime I've seen this discussion anywhere it's always about men, seriously what the ****. People also obviously don't like change. So people now-a-days are starting to become curious about the same gender, and showing it more openly, so what? Does it hurt you to see a man love another? ****, this has been happening since AT LEAST the Roman times.

This might seem wierd, but I was thinking, as I was walking, that maybe we should stop talking about this. For some reason this topic makes me extremely uncomfortable now. Does it not bother anybody about how this might change people's perception of other people. We might see each other in a totally different light. I'm sorry to say this but I feel wierd. It might seem stupid ,but that's justthe way I feel now. When I find the words that will convey these feelings properly, I will not hesitate to share these with you, because i have no doubt that I've greatly confused you all. Um... yeah.
