ever think that maybe there was and still is so much fighting because that there are so many different types of ppl compared to canada? all the races and cultures are mixed up that there will have to be fighting and thus deaths.

where i live, the majority of people are rich, spoiled, white, protestant, republicans
it's a nice place but sometimes sickening
i think the world doesnt hate america. just some countries are annoyed with our nosiness(sp?) and arrogance. instead of making calculated decisions, we blunder along with zealous valor toward an ideal goal, destroying everything along the way
we freed iraq from saddam, now their citizens are rejoicing in the few days they have before they are blown up by a roadside bomb

Our government is great.

i'm basically stil a broke kid in school. However, the day the draft gtes reinstated, bet your balls i'm gonna skip countries and say "Fxck the US of A" really fast.

Amen. Not only the propoganda that goes on in other countires, but our own. I hate watching nightly news on the major networks becuase I can never be 100% sure if we are being led on, and the stupid stories they air and the major issues they leave out.

All in all I still like living here, and everyone may think the grass is greener on the other side but every country has it's own issues (some more than others). If you move out of the states to get away from all it's problems your just relocating somewhere else that has different problems.

Yeah did you hear about the whole "Planted Newspapers" in Iraq thing, where Bush paid American writers to say good things about US Army in the hope they would stop bombing each other. But the thing is they're covering it up as their own people writing it.

I'd rather have different problems then having to be forced to kill people in a draft. Thou shalt not kill.

Anyone who says they'd flee the country if the draft were reinstated is not only overly paranoid but loses a lot of respect from me...if the country had such a shortage of soldiers that we had to force people to join I would be among the first volunteering. If we were truly in need of soldiers that badly then I would go willingly because I'd rather have myself out there and willing to fight and protect the freedoms of my loved ones rather than someone who is going to desert or focus on a way to get out. And they're overly paranoid because let's face it there is no need for a draft and if there was it would probably be due to another World War and you can bet that leaving this country may not do you very much good unless you head to some third world country.

I'm sorry to lose your respect, but I have my morals to think of. Besides this country has been screwing my people over since they drug us over here on "big slave boat" (literally that's why im milk chocolate and not charcoal, that white dude was WAY up the line.) I know that things are better now but not by much people are still prejudiced, and sometimes I can't blame them, there's a diference between a way of life and inappropiate behavior, some people are so ghetto and then when our pwoplw do get up they act all bougie and dont want to claim their race anymore. I ts really pitiful.

Don't you even start on racism, you know who most of the racist people I've met are? The ones claiming to be oppressed. I rarely see a white guy call a black guy anything racist, unless it's two friends done in good fun, yet I see black people tossing out racist slurs left and right. I've never seen a white guy challenege a black employer saying he was unfair because he was racist, yet I've seen far too many black people yell and scream when they get fired claiming the one doing the firing is racist.

our society today is wrongly biased for blacks. we've gone to such an extreme that whites can no longer do or say anything without being harshly grilled for any subtle racist comments or attitudes while we are now so lenient towards blacks being racist and foul-mouthed that it isnt a difference at all. yes, white people are racist too but they at least are forced to keep it to themselves. some idiot blacks can spew out a multitude of racial slurs and swear words but as long as they blame the "white man" for their purposeless rage, they can get away with it. it's not right

how many samalians were killed? over 1000

this is one of the us's military disasters too

don't forget the two atom bombs, killing tens of thousands with just one bomb. japan lost as much people in those two bombings as maybe 1/4 all the americans lost in wwii

First off, commandwolf, it wasn't "The Black Hawk Down" mission, it was "The Battle of Mogadishu" so don't believe everything you see in the movies.

Second, the whole operation was to capture 1-2 military warlords that were taking food the US was shipping and hoarding it or selling it for weapons/money.

Third, the Somalians began the whole confrontation by firing at our helicopters. Remember the part of the movie where they tied that soldier to the vehicle and dragged him through the streets? That really happened. I'd rather 1000 of those savages die than one of our soldiers. And we lost 17 soldiers when we were just trying to help them out in the first place.

As for the bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they bombed us first. We retaliated. I don't feel any sense of shame or regret for what we did. Over 1000 Navy sailors drowned in the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Arizona so I still don't feel bad for the after-effect of the atomic bombs in Japan either.

As for why other countries hate America? I don't know, but if it is because of us sticking our noses where they don't belong and helping people I say we get our noses the hell out. I mean we can send troops to Iraq and help them build a in a week but we still can't help Loiusiana after the hurricanes.

As for the people talking about racism. It isn't that bad, don't blame the white people, and if you guys don't like it so much why do you stay?
