That's just what our media shows because that's what sells, which should be obvious from the popularity of anime (since you used it as an example). The public would rather hear of a tragedy and be out-raged rather than hear a a calm happy story. Sure, romance movies get decent enough profits at the theatre but what really sells? Comedy movies that push the envelope, usually involving a lot of slap-stick, then action and horror...that's what the masses love.

The US's cartoons are all lame nowadays.

I grew up watching GI Joe where they used guns that actually fired bullets (not lasers like today), and I watched Looney Toons that had episodes that invovled Bugs Bunny and a lot of slapstick vs a character that strongly resembled Hitler......

Heh, I'd like to see a new today's cartoons try and replicate that without causing a stir, we aren't so much as protected by censorship as we are smothered by it.

I didn't say the media was causing violence, I said it seems like we're so violent because our media pushes what sells...if there's no violent protest or murder then they go on about celebrity gossip or some other bullshit that I couldn't care less about.

Most of us are from immigrant descent. My family is German/French descent, and those that immigrated here did so long ago. Go back far enough in anyone's family tree and you'll dig up immigrants.

We are talking about the her and now. Droves of Mexicans are coming to the united states illegally and our government seems to be turning a blind eye. I don't want to sound a conspiracy theory, but I think it's because they work for such a low amount of pay that it helps bug business, and most every politician here has ties with big business.

I don't agree with it. It's so damn easy to get to the united states through Mexico. Cuba closed it's borders to the US, so if you want to get there you must first fly to another place like somewhere in south America and then fly there. To get to the U.S. if you are otherwise disallowed you fly to Mexico and then cross the borders. There are terrorists that have been arrested and have claimed to have made it to the US by crossing the borders.

We have an entire branch of our military dedicated to protecting our borders (National Guard) and they seem incapable of doing their ****ing jobs. I'm not talking about the hard-working grunts, but further up the chain of command. It'd be no problem to deploy forces along the border with shoot to kill orders. If you think it's inhumane, try running the border between Palestine and Israel and see if they let you waltz past.

If your Mexican and you jump through the hoops to gain legal citizenship, more power to you. If your some freeloader leeching off our society then I have a problem with it. And don't say they don't cost us money, the taxpayer picks up things like social security for illegals (Odd that its easier for them to qualify..) if they have a child born on our soil. Their kids go to our schools, they use our public facilities. If the government takes half my god damned paycheck then it should be the same for them.

I'm not racist, I'd feel just the same if it were a bunch of freeloading whites coming here in droves, but it just happens to be people of 'latino' descent which is a hot topic for all the media whores to flash the 'racism' card in our face when we go to protest this bullshit becuase racism is an overexaggerated hot topic here.
